Thea has always been a maker of things. Creating with many mediums…

…such as beads and embroidery thread, pastels or wax crayons under watercolor and acrylic, 3D paper collage and wire sculptures and as you'll mostly see here, pen and ink. She loves to work with the natural characteristics of the tools at hand and instinctively follows their lead.

A Pacific Northwest Native who you will not hear complain about the weather. Her favorite seasons are Autumn and Spring when the misty greens and gusty blues abound. After living in the Bay Area and Central Oregon, she is content to call this home. She is a happily married mom of two boys residing in the emerald tree lined Lake Forest Park.

Thea earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts from the University of Washington in 2004. While she has continued to create art in the years since, until recently it has been in the form of one off gifts. She has worked in a few different fields but mostly within the optical industry until she decided to stay home to be Mom. As the times have changed and the kids are getting older, the call to pursue a more substantial creative expression, beyond the occasional project, has become louder. She is thrilled to be sharing her art with you now and fully welcoming this new chapter into her life.

Dancing, stormy visits to the beach, enjoying the company of family and friends, cooking nutritious slow cooked food and watching the trees, plants and birds are how she spends her waking hours, outside of the ritualistic duties of motherhood of course.
